This group papers relate to chiefly to John S. Stillman's position as chairman of the New York Bridge Authority, with special emphasis on the planning, design, and construction of the Newburgh Beacon Bridge, which spans the Hudson River in New York State. These files also detail negotiations for federal funds as well as complex matters of state politics. The second series of papers relate to Stillman's opposition to conversion of the former air force base into a commercial facility called Stewart Airport.
